Sources of Strength is a mental health promotion and suicide prevention program that uses the power of peer social networks to create healthy norms and culture. Together, these networks build connections and prevent suicide, violence, bullying, and substance misuse.
The mission of Sources of Strength is "to prevent adverse outcomes by increasing well-being, help-seeking, resiliency, healthy coping, and belonging." SCOPE has offered Sources of Strength since 2024 and has worked with more than 122 elementary students.
Like Sources of Strength, SCOPE focuses on strengths, not deficits. The community of Socorro and its people are strong. Our strength is from our community's individuals, families, organizations, and partnerships.
Together, we grow better.

Too Good for Drugs (Middle School)

The curriculum addresses risk and protective factors related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, with age-appropriate discussions that deepen as students mature.
Topics include:
-

-
